This is mainly due to the three intermediate sprints and categorised climb being packed rather close to each other, the first one coming in Umbai after 28.5km. One lower category climb follow in the main tourist destination of Melaka, Eye on Malaysia (42.8km).

A higher tempo is expected and some breakaway attempts could be expected after that by riders targeting the stage victory all the way through the historic city of Melaka. In Alor Gajah brings about the second intermediate sprint in Masjid Tanah (61.2.3km). A third intermediate sprint is placed rather close to the finish, at the 81.8km point in Kuala Sungai Baru, heating up the race for the finish line in Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson.
